Run for Water 6k April 18
Help the Red Cross collect water for Africa!
Copenhagen is one of more than 100 cities in the world where climate organization Live Earth is organizing a global initiative on April 18 to fight the global water crisis.
Within 24 hours, thousands of people worldwide will walk or run 6 km. 6 km symbolizes the average distance millions of people every day must go to fetch water for survival.
The Danish Red Cross presents in collaboration with Radio 100FM, National Geographic Channel, and Bakken, the Copenhagen Run For Water. Participate in the 6-km race, or join approximately 2000 other participants in the Deer Park for subsequent concerts and entertainment.
The goal is, through the participant fees and sponsorships from private companies, to raise 500,000 Danish kroner, which will go to a Danish Red Cross water drilling project in Malawi, Africa. Go to

Fun Green Gadget of the Month
Air-drying your clothes is best for the environment. But if you need to use your dryer, throw in 2 Dryer Balls. They reduce dryer time by 25%, thus reducing your energy bill and your carbon footprint. They also soften your clothes mechanically, saving money on expensive softeners or dryer sheets. And they are ideal for those with skin allergies or sensitivity to the chemicals found in fabric softeners. Dryer Balls can be found at El Giganten in the washer/dryer section.
