Science Museum Solar Airship

This cross between a balloon and kite effectively demonstrates the energy provided to us every day by the sun. The structure is an 8 meter black plastic tube filled with air. The plastic is composed of a special heat absorbing plastic which heats the air inside creating lift even on a cloudy day. Attached to the airship is a 50 meter line which helps you play with it as a kite. The solar airship is available from Amazon for around ten British pounds.

Earth Day is April 22^nd!

For over 40 years Earth Day has been celebrating the birth of the modern environmental movement. Each April 22^nd people around the world perform acts towards bettering the environment and raise awareness about modern society’s effect on the natural world. We encourage CIS students and families to get involved in Earth Day this year.
