Giving to CIS

Over the years, since its founding in 1962, Copenhagen International School has benefited from many charitable gifts - large and small.

The generosity of parents, past and present, alumni and the Friends of CIS has enabled the school to grow into one of the leading international IBO world schools. The school works hard to retain this status and build even greater academic excellence into the programmes with an ever developing curriculum.

In order to achieve this and to recognize our mission “to develop the potential of each student in a stimulating environment of cultural diversity, academic excellence and mutual respect”, we rely on the philanthropic support of our CIS community to help enhance and broaden the educational experience we offer present and future generations.

Put quite simply, giving makes our school better and our community stronger.

CIS has charitable status as an educational institution; this allows us to receive gifts that are tax-deductible for donors in Denmark. There is also a CIS Foundation in the United States where gifts are tax-deductible for US donors.

In 2008, CIS launched the Annual Fund (formerly the Fund for Excellence) to further support and enrich our students’ education. The CIS Board Development Committee oversees The Annual Fund, with administrative support from the school. The Annual Fund accounts are managed by the school and audited annually by the school auditors. All personal information submitted and donations made are held in strictest confidence.
