Did You Know?

A CIS T-shirt has been carried into space?  

The Space Shuttle Endeavour took a CIS T-shirt into space in November 2002.  The T-shirt is now displayed in the school lobby.

CIS IB students continue to produce results above the world average?

Since the school started the program in 1972, CIS students have consistently been among the top performers.

There are now nine IB schools in Denmark?

Besides CIS, Birkerød Gymnasium, Nørre Gymnasium, Kolding Amtsgymnasium og HF kursus, Hasseris Gymnasium, Nyborg Gymnasium, Herlufsholm Skole, Grenaa Gymnasium og HF, Struer Stratsgymnasium, and Ikast-Brande Gymnasium now offer the IB program

The huge Mona Lisa can still be seen at CIS?

The 2m x 3m collage of the Mona Lisa that Weily Ran created in 1982 is hanging in a place of honour outside the school library.

CIS has purchased student art since 1997?

Every year the school purchases two pieces of student art for display on the premises.

Labyrinth is still going strong?

Since 1983, the Labyrinth Magazine of the Arts has been encouraging literary and artistic efforts. Mr Pierce will send a free copy to any alum who writes a letter for publication.

CIS now offers sailing as an extra-curricular activity?

With its Hellerup location, sailing Optimists and Ynglings is a popular activity for Secondary School students.

The IB is now completed in the 12th grade?

From 1974 through 1997, CIS students finished the IB in their 13th year. In 1997 it was changed back to the 12th grade.

CIS plays sports against schools in Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Norway?  

As part of the Northern European Coucil of International Schools, CIS kids play in four tournaments a year against a dozen international schools in these countries.
