Strategic Plan

At the heart of CIS is a strong, clear sense of dedication. The school is very fortunate to have at its centre - and as the foundation for this strategic plan - an extraordinary group of students and professional, dedicated teachers. One of the very clear messages from the November 2007 consultation process is that CIS is a very happy community, with students who not only enjoy being at the school but also benefit from an open and trusting dialogue with their teachers.

For CIS to achieve its core goal of educational excellence it needs to attract, employ and retain passionate educators and administrative staff who are able to provide a nurturing environment - within a technologically innovative, environmentally progressive and financially secure and independent framework. Thus empowered, the school is well placed not only to enhance and strengthen its holistic approach to learning, but also to offer students a world-class education and a global mindset. It also has greater capacity to inspire and challenge each individual child and to foster peer learning in the context of furthering understanding, empathy and appreciation for the cultural diversity and richness inherent to the school.

The Strategic Plan seeks to articulate Copenhagen International School's ambitions for where it wants to be in five years' time and to provide a roadmap. The Plan is structured around the following five key, interdependent areas of importance to the future of the school:
