Student Life
Being a student at CIS includes a lot more that just attending classes.
In the Primary School, students may choose from a variety of After School Activities and clubs in which to participate. In the Secondary School, each student is a member of an advisory class, having daily contact with their advisor through morning registration. The advisor looks after their welfare and is the first point of contact between home and school. The different sections of the Secondary School have a Dean of Students, who supports the advisors in this role and monitors student life.
The school has a wide range of Extra Curricular activities CIS students can involve themselves with outside class:
- Student publications in the Secondary School: Student Voice, The Horizon, Labyrinth, Yearbook and a Creative Writing Club
- After School Activities
- Sports program includes NECIS athletics, drop-in sports activities for Secondary School students, and sports activities for Primary School students as part of After School Activities.
- Computer Club
- Outdoor Club
- Games Club
- Sailing Club
- Drama
- Choirs, Brass and Woodwind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Chamber Music Group, Violin trios, and private music lessons after school.
- Photography Club

At the start of the year, each grade in the Secondary School spends two days and an overnight out of school to bond socially, welcome new students to the grade, and refresh the areas of interaction. Diploma students are away for a two-night retreat. Towards the end of the year each grade, except the diploma students, is out of school for an activity week, which is designed to bring together pastoral and academic elements of the year.
